Tell us about your BAD DATES!
So I was at the bar with a group of friends when I felt someone squeezing on my side. It caught me totally off guard because I was in the middle of a conversation with one of my homegirls and knew it wasn’t her grabbing me on my love handles. I turned my chair around to see who touched me and it was some guy who was sitting in the stool right next to me at the bar. Me: Ummmmm…why are you touching me? Can I help you with something? Him: Oh, I just wanted to get your attention to talk to you. Me: My attention? Are you kidding me right now?...read more
So once I cut a person off, it’s usually for good, but on this particular occasion, I gave some a second chance. This dude reneged on an invitation to a Lauryn Hill concert [read more HERE] and I didn’t appreciate that not one bit so much so that I completely cut dude off…Blocked him from calling and texting me altogether [Thanks iPhone] Anyway after almost one year of not talking to the guy, he called me on my phone from a different number [his job phone apparently]. So I had been talking to this guy regularly on the phone and we finally made plans to go on a date. We met at a restaurant near my home and had a ball. As I hugged him goodbye, he said he...read more
So I exchanged numbers with this guy and, during our initial chat, I learned that he lived about 4 hours away. [Damn!] We kept in touch in spite of the distance and spoke fairly regularly . He came to town within the following weeks and we had the absolute BEST time. We went to a number of bars in the city (kind of like a bar crawl) and danced the night away. I don’t think I have ever laughed so hard in my life. It felt great to just go out and have some good old-fashioned fun….nothing planned or pretentious. [This dude might be a...read more
So when I moved into my new house, I was super excited to get everything decorated. Everything was in place and the only thing I had left to do was hang my curtain rods. I called people to see who could help me and everyone was busy. One day, I got a call from the maintenance man at my old apartment calling to congratulate me and telling me he would miss seeing me around. [We used to talk briefly before I decided to move, but had not in almost a year.] I thanked him and told him about the curtain rods. He quickly said “I’ll do it!” and I was...read more
