Who Calls?

Why is it difficult for a person to pick up the phone and actually speak to their love interest? For example, a person sent me a message on social media requesting that I call them (this person has my phone number btw). I said I’d call when I got back from vacation. I was back from vacation for all of five days when I got a nasty gram in my inbox from the person with a snide remark about me not calling them. Me being the person that I am expressed that passive aggressiveness doesn’t work on me (I don’t care for attitude on social media from people who have my phone number). Over time this person has left messages about me not calling and I’ve reminded them that they’ve had my number and if they wanted to speak so badly, they could’ve called. Their excuse is that didn’t want to call me for fear of looking thirsty which I thought was ridiculous. Anywho long story short….if a person says they will call you and they don’t get around to it because something came up or they simply forgot, do you put your ego/pride aside and call that person? Do you send them a nasty text or message on social media? Do you fall back completely? If you really want to speak to a person, what’s the harm in calling them yourself instead of waiting?
