Blabbermouth

So I met this guy one night while I was at a bar with some of my friends. I liked his vibe and we exchanged numbers before I left to go home. We talked on the phone a few days later after I had gotten off from work and it just so happened that my project site was close to his office [Sweet!].

Black couple drinking red wine together

We decided to get together that same night after my project at a sushi restaurant nearby to have those initial ice-breaker conversations since we hadn’t chatted much after meeting due to both of our schedules.  I learned that we worked in the same industry and that neither one of us had children. [Holy sh**! I just hit the jackpot…maybe. lol] Things seemed cool, but then he got on my nerves a little bit because he started name dropping and I HATE that sh**! “I know this famous person and that famous person. Worked with this celebrity and blah blah blah. [Who the f*** cares???]

Man and Woman at Date - Yawn

With the exception of the meaningless name dropping, the night ended well.

We didn’t learn that much about each on our first date outside of work because he was talking so damn much about his celebrity experiences, but I tried to keep an open mind and accepted his offer to go out again.

This time, he arranged a date for us at a local tequila bar [tequila! my favorite!!!], but that outing was short-lived because he didn’t make a reservation and the wait was way too long. [Damn. Thanks a LOT!]

He drove us to another location and we were lucky enough to find two seats at the bar on a busy Saturday night. I was happy to finally be seated and really sit down and get to know this guy. We had a good 5-10 minute conversation and then he suddenly felt the need to engage the gentleman next to me in lengthy conversation. [Ummmmm we’re kinda on a date and I’m way cuter than this random guy, so pay attention to me please.] They talked about everything under the sun from work to sports and I instantly became invisible.[I mean would you two prefer to be on this date together? Should I leave?]

screaming woman

After about 20-30 minutes had gone by of him chopping it up with the dude next to me, I turned to blabbermouth and gave him a scowl of sorts and blurted out “Are you done?” He stopped mid-sentence and excused himself to the restroom. [Oh sh*t! I hope he didn’t leave me here! Do I need a taxi now?]

I didn’t realize the intensity of my scowl until the guy next to me uttered “Man, you must be some kind of special lady to make a man stop in the middle of talking about sports.”  I said “I don’t know if I’m all that special, but it would be nice if the two of you kinda wrapped up your conversation because you are talking over me [I was sitting right in between the both of them my date to my left….the random dude to my right] and, more importantly, he and I are on a date.” When my date came back from the bathroom, I recommended that the two of them exchange business cards.

My mood shifted to a not so good place because I was annoyed that my date seemed way too focused on everything but me, so I asked him to take me home. He did ask to go out again, but I told him that I wasn’t really interested in hanging out with him anymore and that was that.

This Date Is Over!

Sincerely,

May I Have Your Attention Please!

P.S. Perhaps I’m more boring than I thought or maybe this guy is gay. Who knows? lol
