So in the church bulletin on Sunday, they announced that the Couples Ministry would be playing the movie “Courageous” on Thursday night. It was advertised as an inclusive event for “All couples, new couples, engaged couples, married couples, young and old” etc. So, I invited this guy I’ve only been out with 7-8 times to movie night at church.
We arrived only to be greeted by the Married Couples Ministry who does a special prayer with us for our marriage. My neck turned red. Then we go to sit down and all the tables are decorated with “How to make your marriage better” material and people start coming over to welcome us to the ministry and asking how many years we’ve been married and such…my cheeks and ears turn red. People that I actually know from church start looking at me quizzically. I think my hair turned red at this point.
I asked him if he wanted to leave because I didn’t think it was going to be like this and he bust out laughing. Time will tell whether or not I unintentionally scared this dude away.
