“If you know how it feels to not have your father around as a child; you shouldn’t want your child to share that same feeling. As a child, my father was never at football games, graduations, piano recitals, school plays, birthday parties, baptisms, my first solo in the choir or any event I sang at. I promised myself that I would NEVER make my child feel the pain that I felt when looking into an audience or stands and not seeing my father. Let’s not make the excuse “She won’t let me see him/her” or “I don’t think it’s mine”. There are laws that have been put into place for Women who don’t allow a child to see his/her father and if you don’t think the child is yours; go get tested. You at least owe the child that much. My Grandmother said “Whatever you do, don’t disappoint him. Always keep your promise and if you ever need help, I’m here. Just don’t disappoint my baby.” I thank God for her and also for me to have a position at work that allows me to make it to whatever my son has.” -Chuck True Said It!™
