Black Friday

So I was walking in the mall when this gorgeous man called my name.  I was caught completely off guard because I didn’t recognize him at first and because he was so damn F-I-N-E.  [Apparently, we met a couple of years prior at a social event.] Everything about this man was beautiful….from his head to his toes this dude was a frikin ADONIS (yes I said frikin lol). 0% body fat, amazing smile, bulging biceps, succulent lips. [*Fans Self*]

Anyway, we exchanged numbers and started to get to know each other better.  He was pretty cool and had a great personality, but in subsequent conversations he revealed to me that he didn’t have a car.  I gave him the benefit of the doubt because he was resourceful [by using public transportation to get him to and from] AND he had two jobs [a hard worker in my eyes].  So, I didn’t sweat the fact that he didn’t have a car.

Unfortunately, on top of this guy not having a car, he made it a point to tell me what he didn’t have and how broke he was by saying “I can’t afford to take you to a nice restaurant” and blah blah blah, which was a little disheartening to me because I never asked him to take me anywhere and I’m actually more interested in a man’s effort than what’s in his wallet. [Picnics, museum visits, walks in the park are all good to me.]

Now I was going to let his ‘woe is me i’m so broke’ comments slide, but would you believe that in the same breath, this dude started to brag to me about all of the stuff that he was planning to purchase on Black Friday?  [Huh?] Flat screen TVs [yes Tvs…plural], XYZ designer jeans, shoes, and glasses, a game console and etc.

Then a few weeks after our conversation, I saw pictures of him online from lavish Caribbean vacations and a cruise. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

This Date Is OVER!

Don’t cry broke when your actions speak otherwise.  Besides, all I wanted was a little effort on your part, which never panned out to anything.

Sincerely,

Clearly I Wasn’t Worth The Investment
