You’re Single Right?

So I went to meet a gentleman for dinner at a nearby restaurant and we were having the standard get to know you conversation: ‘Where are you from?’ ‘What do you do?’ and blah blah blah. He told me how good I looked and I was just basking in all of the compliments (a lady always wants to feel beautiful especially to a potential love interest).

After we order our entrees, the conversation progressed and turned to the subject of relationships. I discussed what I was looking for, how long I had been single, my likes, dislikes, etc. I then asked him “How long have you been single?” and his response was “Actually, I’m not single.” [INSERT THE SCREECHING SOUND OF RECORD PLAYER COMING TO AN ABRUPT HAULT]

I said “Excuse me?” and he said “Yeah, I have a lady. So?” And the conversation went downhill from there. I told him that I thought he was a sorry @$$, disrespectful man who was not worthy of being in my presence. His response was “what my girl don’t know won’t hurt her” and went on to justify that it was perfectly fine for him to see other women unbeknownst to his girlfriend or wife (whoever she was….I never got clarity) while she’s at home taking care of their children. [Double whammy! This mother effer not only had a woman, but kids too!]

As my blood began to boil and the fumes flared from my ears, I excused myself to the ladies room so that I could calm down because I was coming very close to making a scene (which is so not my style). I returned to the table, grabbed my coat and told him to have a nice life. He sat there stunned and had the nerve to ask “Why are you leaving?” and pleaded with me to stay. [REALLY sir? Why am I leaving? Did you not hear me explain how disgusted I was with your lack of respect for your woman and children? GTFOH]
